Dear
Thomas,
Christmas is such a wonderful time of year. We celebrate
our Savior's birth! We give gifts! Hearts seem to be
more generous this time of year than any other time. I
hope you have a great Christmas as you celebrate with
your family.
I do want to remind you of our
Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International
Missions. Every dollar that is given goes directly to
the mission field. I want to challenge you to
prayerfully consider giving your largest gift ever. The
economy is weak and in many churches giving has been
weak. I want to encourage you to continue
your faithfulness in your giving and this Christmas
really pray about the gift God wants you to give for
missions.
I challenge you to prayerfully
consider giving double the amount you gave last
year. Our church goal is $25,000. We could easily
give $50,000. Will you pray about the amount God
wants you to give for missions?

Welcome to

Dear Thomas,
I wanted to take this
opportunity to thank you for joining
HHBC. Our purpose is to work together to
reach our community for Christ. We all
have a role to play and we want to be
sure we are properly equipped. Please
know that if we can help in any way, do
not hesitate to contact us.
Sometimes, we ask, "What's
next?" Let me explain what comes next:
To help our membership grow spiritually,
we have developed the Life
Development Process. It consists of
4 classes, 4 hours each.
The membership class is required to
complete membership and the other
classes are available and we strongly
urge each person to complete those
classes as well. You learn how to mature
as a believer, how to find your place in
ministry, and then how to be involved in
missions whether it is around the corner
or around the globe.
|
|
As a new member, the Membership
Class will complete your membership. You
will learn much about HHBC - what we
believe, our mission, our expectations
of membership, etc. We will discuss
salvation, baptism, Lord's Supper, the
meaning of membership, essential
doctrines we believe, and we will
clearly discuss what our expections are
of our members. We want you to be an
essential part of our ministry, so we
want you properly equipped. Discipleship
is very important to us!
In the Membership Class we will
ask you to sign a Membership Covenant:
-
I will protect the unity of my
church
-
I will share the responsibility
of my church
-
I will serve the ministry of my
church
-
I will support the testimony of
my church
Next, we invite you to be part
of the Maturity Class, the Ministry
Class, and then the Mission Class. You
will be glad you completed each class.
After completion you become a GRAND SLAM
DISCIPLE!
Every new member is enrolled in
a Bible Study Class. In that class you
have opportunity to study the Bible and
learn how God operates in our individual
lives each day. You learn how to apply
those teachings.
Finding Your Place of Ministry
We believe every member should
be a minister. We encourage you to let
us connect you to a place of service
that you are interested in so you can
stretch your wings! This way, you can
discover where you fit best according to
your spiritual giftedness.
For example, you can serve as a
helper in Kid's Worship, be a greeter, work
in Vacation Bible School, volunteer to work
in the food serving line for Wednesday Night
Supper, get involved in missions, be part of
Gospel Saturation on Saturday, help in
Upward Basketball or Upward Flag Football,
sing in the choir, etc. We have a place for
you!
Always know that we are willing
to help. As pastors, we feel our role is
defined in Ephesians 4:11-13.
"It
was he who gave some to be apostles,
some to be prophets, some to be
evangelists, and some to be pastors and
teachers, to prepare God's people for
works of service, so that the body of
Christ may be built up until we all
reach unity in the faith and in the
knowledge of the Son of God and become
mature, attaining to the whole measure
of the fullness of Christ."
Welcome to the process!

God and Make Him Known!

I need you to contact me (770-922-2027)
and let's set a time to sit down and
talk about where we can connect you to a
ministry. To work with children and
youth, you need to be a member for 6
months and have an up-to-date records
check. You can, however, work as a
helper in Kid's Worship alongside two
other church members. We need and want
your help. Let's talk!
